Here is a snippet from chapter Three of Full Wolf Moon!
Emily was still in the clothing from the police station, minus the jacket. She walked barefoot across the yard, not stopping until she reached the edge of the woods. It was thick, and lots of trees had fallen, but it wasn’t hard to find the path used by deer to eat in the grass. She walked on, paying little attention to where she stepped. Dried leaves and kindling snapped under each step. She could smell the lake water and feel the cold breeze whispering through the forest.
Emily never stopped as she slipped through the woods, one muddy step after another. Not stopping until she reached the lake. She could imagine it frozen as kids, teenagers, and those youthful skating across the lake during the coldest of winters. She stepped into the water. She knew it was cold, but she could barely feel it. She never stopped. As the chilly water overtook her form, every curve until there was nothing solid under her step, and she floated, looking up at the sky, drifting off into unconsciousness.

Emily gasped.
