August 26! I will be there with copies of all my books and more!

So despite all my efforts to do it on Facebook and here, it seems the best place for me to put up a poll is my Patreon. It is a free to the public post so go check it out!!
So a big part of the Fairywood Falls book is the Johnson journal that Naomi discovers. And below is the first entry into that journal:
November 30th, 1944
This is crazy. I think I’m loosing my mind. I have no other way of putting it, and if I’m being honest, I think Richard might have given me something at school today in my drink. I have no other way to explain what it was. I feel like I need to start with this, I don’t journal, but I feel like I need to get this down on the page so I don’t burst. I saw something today that I can’t quite explain, and every time I try to wrap my head around it, I think I’m crazy.
The cows were missing when I got home from school, and Dad believes it may snow tonight. Any other time he wouldn’t have worried about them; they are always here in the mornings when I get up for school. Dad thought I was old enough to go on my own. Like so often before, I begged just to go on my own, so you can imagine my surprise when he agreed. He just wanted me to take my.22 and maybe bring a couple of squirrels home if I had the chance, but he stressed how much he wanted me to be careful.
I got my rifle, and I headed to the back of our property. So often when they don’t come home, that is where they are, the old waterfall. Everything went smoothly. Maybe it’s because I didn’t have to wait around for Dad. He’s starting to slow with his age. Might be part of the reason he let me go on my own this time. His hips are starting to bother him. I even got a couple of squirrels for dinner before I got to the waterfall.
I crept up to where I could see the waterfall, sometimes we’ll see deer there, and I didn’t want to spook them. That is when I saw her. She was waist-deep in the water. Her wings, I just couldn’t take my eyes off her, this bright purple silk-like material. The cows were there drinking from the water where she bathed. A couple of deer and more crows than I think I have ever seen in one spot my whole life. It was like one of those drawings from the magazine Richard sometimes brings to school with him. I just couldn’t believe what I saw.
I rushed home, leaving the cows behind. I wanted to tell Dad. Not for one moment did I ever doubt what it was I saw, and when I told him, he just gave me a look. He questioned if I had been in his moonshine. He told me not to tell Mom…
I truly think I saw an angel.

What is Fairywood Falls about?
An Appalachia Fairy Tale….
Naomi and Garrett are making big changes to their lives. Deciding to leave the city life behind, retire early, and move back to Eastern Kentucky to live a simpler life with their dog Growler and horses.
They quickly realize something about their new property isn’t quite right. There is something or someone dwelling on their land and everything points to something straight out of a fairy tale. Do winged creatures really live among the earie woods of Kentucky? Naomi and Garrett will soon find out what tiptoes through the forest at night…but can they escape the crossfire from those that already know what lurks deep within?
What genre does Fairywood Falls fall into?
Obviously it’s fantasy. But to be more direct, it’s Appalachia Fairytale Fantasy with a touch of Horror in the mix!!
Is Fairywood Falls part of a series?
No. Though I do leave it rather open at the end of the book that if an idea comes to me I can revisit these characters. But at this point I haven’t really thought about writing a sequel to the book.
What has crossed my mind however is the possibility of writing some shorts revolving around the character of Mister Johnson who appears in the book only through his journal entries. Have even considered writing the first meeting between him and the fairy as a short for my patreon for later this year.
What are my expectations from SPFBO?
So many people upon learning about SPFBO and the fact that I entered one of my books have said how cool it would be if I won. I’m not going to sit here and say it wouldn’t. That would be amazing. But I have no expectations of winning. I truly hope anyone who picks Fairywood Falls up because of this event enjoys the book and I would truly love to hear from all of you.
