May/June Update
Because I realize I didn’t do an update for May and there is a good reason for it, I didn’t accomplish anything writing wise in May. I might have put a 1000 words to page during that month!
June, I ended up writing just over 8000 words so not even reaching my goal but t least it was a better than the previous month. Most of my words went into Pixie Bones…which is an urban fantasy/horror novel that leans into the weird. As I’m writing this project off an on, i realize I’m just letting it go as far out of ‘weird Appalachia’ as I can let it. Not sure when it’ll ever come out but it is my current main project.
Looking ahead to July….
If you don’t follow my Patreon you should….less than a cup of coffee a month and this coming month is a good month to start. As of posting this, i have 7 posts already scheduled for July and working on at least a couple more. 4 chapters of Predators Moon! 1 chapter from a Grimdark Fantasy novel that I’m tinkering with and some behind the scenes of my writers journey stuff ya’ll may be interested in. (i’ll post a link in comments)
I also getting into gear the next edit of Feather in a Gaslamp before I send it off to beta readers with hopes of getting it to the editor in September… I will be doing that in July!
Big update that I promised the other day, Fairywood Falls is coming to audible later this year!! 🙂

April Update
Here we are the middle of May and I’m just now getting to doing my April update which is usually a bad sign. April was my most productive month of the year so far, I wrote around 15,000 words. Four Things about Widows Ridge That I hope makes you want to pick it up! The book is up for pre-order as both an ebook and paperback!
- Widows Ridge is a Novella I wrote to be a prologue/short story prequel to another novel I have already written. Though it is very different it does flow in the same world. So there will be more sometime down the road in this Widows story.
- I wanted to write something more Horror than fantasy! But at the same time if you’re someone who really enjoyed Fairywood Falls I do believe you will like Widows Ridge.
- It is two stories combined. I originally had a werewolf story that had the same basic premise, but I never could find a way to get it to work. But once I put in the spider aspect it came together.
- If the idea of a were-spider intrigues you just a little bit! I dug deep for this and just the idea of a spider shifter or were spider is terrifying in its on right. So, I hope this plays out in a way that people who have a fear of spiders want to check it out and be scared by the book!

The Predators Moon
What is the Predators Moon?
The spinoff starring the would be alpha from Full Wolf Moon! This is a prequel to the second book in the Howling Moon series but this book does not require that you read either of the first two books in the series. So this is a good standalone book series in the same world as Emily Meyer!
So I won’t spoil it beyond that, Alma does tell Emily about her attack in the second book, so everyone who has read that book knows part of the story! This is the rest! I will be posting two chapters every month on Patreon with hopes of re-releasing it in 2025 as a full e-book and paperback!
The cover I’m currently posting with the book is a temporary cover that I had made over a year back when I thought I was going to post this to Kindle Vella and it will get an update later upon release!

March/91 Days
91 Days into 2024…
So I’m still going to do this update just not weekly, once a month so I don’t bore all of you with a weekly update just on progress.
Widows Ridge….I have the paperback proof copy! I’ve seen the e-book proof! Everything is go and now comes the fun part….marketing….the real horror story. So be prepared for a month of Widows Ridge, images, snippets and facts all in hopes of getting you interested in this short Novella!!
Word count for March was just under 6,000 words so I’m on a downward spiral that I need to fix now. But in my defense, I did a lot of editing during March! For the year puts me at 31,698 so at least I’m still averaging 10k a month.
April goals – 10 k words written, 10 chapters editing, 2 chapters to Patreon, 1 short story!
