Goal List 2024

Every year I make a list of what my goals are for the upcoming year and this year is no different. I’ve published two books in the last year and two months, Fairywood Falls and Full Wolf Moon!  With some variety of success with both. I’ve found my way into a few reading lists of people that hadn’t read any of my previous work thanks to my take on Appalachian Fantasy and Horror and I’ll continue to expand on those genres in the coming year. Also going a bit further into more Fantasy stories with some shorts and an upcoming release that will take me completely out of the genres people have become use to seeing me write!  You can expect to learn more about that in the next couple months. But here is what a few of my goals look like or the upcoming year!

  • Widows Ridge – Though I didn’t accomplish much the last half of 2023 as a writer, I did end the last month making a lot of progress on my upcoming release Widows Ridge. In fact, by the end of January it should be off to the editor which keeps me on my schedule of a spring release for the short Novella.
  • More Short Stories – I have a number in mind for my short stories to publish through Patreon, but to start with you should start seeing them get released as soon as mid-January on the first one and so forth trying to release a piece of fiction on my Patreon of at least 1000 words every month.  Some of these will be free some will be behind the Patreon pay-wall. Some pieces will be completely brand new while others will be flash fiction from years turned into bigger pieces.
  • Words Written – Though I didn’t have quite the productive 2023 as I did 2022 or 2021, I once again hope to write around 200,000 words in the coming year to get me back up to speed with those two previous years.
  • Editing – Widows Ridge isn’t the only book I’m working on editing, I’m knee deep in editing a steampunk novel as well and hopefully after those two are released, a return to the Howling Moon books!

Just a taste of my goals for the upcoming year!  I did post a more detailed list on Patreon!

Happy New Year

It’s 2024! Time for new beginnings and to put the past year behind us, whether it was good or bad it’s time to move forward. I had a good year as a writer, release Fairywood Falls and had three of the best events as a writer I’ve ever had. A big thank you to everyone who has been supporting me! For those who have shared or posted reviews or recommended my work, I can’t thank you enough!! Looking forward to a great new year!! I’ve got some surprises in store for everyone starting very soon! Including a cover reveal to my upcoming Steampunk novel that will come out later this year!

And to start with, all of my e-books are on sale for .99 cents for the month of January!

Big Week Ahead

A very big week ahead… It’s Halloween, my favorite time of the year!!! But also, I will be posting the cover for Widows Ridge on Halloween for everyone to see!!! If you go over to my patreon you can already see the cover and read the opening paragraph. On top of that, you can get a glimpse into where this particular story idea came from!

On top of the cover reveal…the preorder will be up on Amazon as well as the tentative release date! For three nights straight I’ve edited five pages a night, I’ve cut out a lot of stuff that needed to go and added a lot of depth to the story!

Also…my short story Broken Reflection will be up on Patreon next week as well!!! And it being my first short story I will be posting over there, it’ll be free!

Next weekend, November 4th and 5th I will be at Shelby Valley High School for the annual Craft Fair that is always a fun event!

Question of the Day

What have you been working on?

A number of different projects.

Though if you have been following along for the past…10 years in any form you know one thing. I’m always working on Multiple projects….

First and Foremost I’m working on releasing my Appalachia Horror Novella Widows Ridge. I have an official release date now, I’m starting on setting up all the information for the paperback and it is already up for presale on Amazon for eBook. It goes off to the editor for the final round of edits at the end of January! You can expect a more detailed Release Announcement for it by the end of January!

It’s also been 10 years since I wrote my steampunk Novel Ulysses….well, i’m finally working on releasing it under a different name. Though the trilogy will be the Ulysses saga, the first book now has a much more fitting name. I even have a cover already… And a release date in mind. On top of that, doing the final edit before I send it off to an editor in the coming months with hopes of a late summer release.

3rd. I’m currently splitting my time between two projects when it comes to writing. Pixie Bones. Another Appalachia Fantasy/Horror book which is plotted out to be a series right now of undetermined length. And Boathouse which will be something entirely different and I have no timeline for when either of these books will be released. If ever, depending on final drafts and if they get that far. Pixie Bones was actually last years NaNoWriMo which never really got off the ground for whatever reason when I sat down to start writings on it at the first of the year it finally began to click for me.

I don’t want to get people hopes too high…but there is also a possible third book release this year depending on how editing goes with it, but there will be more news on that come summer!

Widow’s Ridge

So…my next release will be a Horror novel Widow’s Ridge… I’m having a lot of discussions about it right now over on Patreon, including hints on the cover and a potential release date. You can follow the link and join in there.

But more to the point, I have a question for all of you potential readers out there. What is it about Spiders that scares you??

Behind the Pages

Friday night! Long day at my day job, and I am just relaxing before I crack open the laptop and try to get some editing done.

Cause anyone who has followed along with the Howling Moon books you know I usually dedicate to a dog! I may start doing a weekly post here, just a peak at our pack! Here is Penny and Ivy sharing an open kennel. (Mostly, Ivy got in trouble and ran off to Penny like she is her big sister!)
