So I’m switching up from the usually Friday update and moving it to Mondays…

For starters the past week was very productive, I have went head first into fixing all the mistakes the editor has pointed out for Widows Ridge and hopefully by this coming weekend I’ll be in the design phase!

Writing, i ended up putting over 3000 words to page this past week! So I’m still on the path to breaking 10k this month.

You can look for a big update coming March 1st on Widows Ridge!

50 Days

Sorry for no Friday post this week!  Spent an amazing weekend with the family for my boys birthday!  We took him skiing! I spent most of the time on my butt and not entirely sure what I think about it, lol.  But the kid seemed to really enjoy themselves so it is a big win!

Writing updates….  I have Widows Ridge back from the editor.  It’s faster than I was expecting, which is great. So starting tomorrow I move on to the next steps.

I did many to write around 3000 words this past 10 days, so that’s good too!

40 Days

So normally I write up these Friday updates on Thursday and just schedule them to upload…but here I am getting this one done just before midnight on Friday. But hey, at least I’m keeping with it which isn’t something i’ve ever been truly good at when it comes to blogging.

40 days into 2024! This biggest update for this past week, Widows Ridge is off to the editor with hopes that I’ll have it back by months end so I can go over her notes and edits and then start the design process!

I did manage to get a little bit of writing done this past week on top of my editing! wrote around 2500 words, 2 k to a vampire story and 500 to Pixie Bones… But any progress is good progress….right?

With Widows Ridge off to the editor, the next couple weeks I’ll be spending a lot of time concentrating on short stories and Ulysses 1, with hopes of getting it ready for an editor by the end of April!

See you next week!

31 Days

A little bit of a different summary for this week, not only am I a couple days early but this is just a run down of what I accomplished in January. Honestly I think I was fairly productive. If I can duplicate it every month this year I will be fairly happy with my progress by years end.

I wrote just over 16,000 words in the month of January, about 6000 over what my goal was for the month.

I’ve read over Widows Ridge three times this month and it’s going off to the editor early next week so from there it’ll be close to the end of February before I can work on it anymore. Still very much on task to release it at the end of April. Hopefully I can finalize a lot of the release details around the first week of March.

So, my goals for February….

  • 10,000 words written.
  • 2 read through of Widows Ridge, the first one this weekend to add just a handful of details and the second once I have it back from the editor and hopefully address any notes she may have for me.
  • Publish two short Stories to Patreon.

Here’s hoping for another productive month!

Small update this week….

But a very important one, Widows Ridge goes off to the editor next week! And I went through a complete read through this week. Going to try and go through it once more before I hand it off.

I didn’t do much writing, but there is still hope I’ll get to 20k before the end of January.

Five Reasons: Howling Moon

Five Reasons you should give Howling Moon and its sequel Full Wolf Moon a chance….

  • If you’re a fan of Werewolves!  I love werewolves, pretty much in every form and have since I was a kid! Howling Moon was a passion for me and wrote something that I would have been a fan of reading. Howling Moon is neither a straightforward Horror nor Urban Fantasy…it skates somewhere in between. Though Full Wolf Moon probably falls more into the Urban Fantasy setting I do still try to cling to some horror vibes throughout the book! There is some romance though I wouldn’t put it in the romantic fantasy category…
  • Emily, the lead character of both these books it not a damsel in distress. Though she does go through some rough times, she is never someone who wants anyone to save her, and she rushes headfirst (sometimes foolishly) into her situation after she realizes something is very wrong with her.
  • No one is safe…. And if you’re someone who has read the first book you know exactly what I mean.
  • There is more on the way. I’ve written two more books with Emily as the lead and I’m hoping book 3 will come out later in 2024 or early 2025, mostly that depends on the editing process.
  • Not only are there more books with Emily on the way…there are at least two other spinoffs I’ve written, unsure of when they will be released. One starring her best Friend Ashley, though it’s more of a novella. The other an alpha female who is introduced in book two, I don’t want to spoil that if you’ve not made it there yet or want to be completely surprised. And there are short stories that may be posted in a Werewolf anthology one day or even on my Patreon for people to read!
  • Though I said there were 5…the sixth reason, both books are currently .99 cents for the rest of January for e-book!

Hey, what do you know, two weeks in a row I’m getting an update post out on Friday. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot to update this week. It was a busy week at work and dealing with a snow storm that hit here in Eastern Kentucky at the first of the week has pretty much slowed my progress. Even as I type this we are preparing for another small storm to come through today.

So, this week….

For the year I’m up over 16,000 words for the year now! So I did manage to write 3k this week so that’s not to awful bad considering. Most of that went into Pixie Bones! I’m starting to hit some stride with it as I’m writing it.

Editing, I didn’t really get much editing done this week. But my man goal this coming weekend is to get through another read through of Widows Ridge!

Patreon update – I posted a cover over on Patreon for an upcoming project that I’m very excited about!

12 Days into 2024…

What have I been working on?

A number of different projects.

I’ve written about 13,000 words across 2 projects, which is more than I wrote the last six months of 2023. And I’ve done quite a bit of editing, though probably not as much as I should have, it is much needed progress.

If you have been following along for the past…10 years in any form you know one thing. I’m always working on Multiple projects….

First and Foremost I’m working on releasing my Appalachia Horror Novella Widows Ridge. I have an official release date now, I’m starting on setting up all the information for the paperback and it is already up for presale on Amazon for eBook. It goes off to the editor for the final round of edits at the end of January! You can expect a more detailed Release Announcement for it by the end of the month!

It’s also been 10 years since I wrote my steampunk Novel Ulysses….well, i’m finally working on releasing it under a different name. Though the trilogy will be the Ulysses saga, the first book now has a much more fitting name. I even have a cover… And a release date in mind. On top of that, doing the final edit before I send it off to an editor in the coming months with hopes of a late summer release.

3rd. I’m currently splitting my time between two projects when it comes to writing. Pixie Bones. Another Appalachia Fantasy/Horror book which is plotted out to be a series right now of undetermined length. And Boathouse which will be something entirely different and I have no timeline for when either of these books will be released. If ever, depending on final drafts and if they get that far. Pixie Bones was actually last years NaNoWriMo which never really got off the ground for whatever reason when I sat down to start writings on it at the first of the year it finally began to click for me.

I don’t want to get people hopes too high…but there is also a possible third book release this year depending on how editing goes with it, but there will be more news on that come summer!

I’m really hoping to start doing a weekly update of how things are progressing… I’ve failed at this so many times in the past because, 1 I hate marketing myself….2…i’m a bit lazy with it, two things I’m trying to fix! So see you next week!
